Strategic Road Safety Strategy and Policy:
RSM have been responsible for the Preparation of reports on achievement of Government and Local Transport Plan targets, Best Value reviews, Service Improvement Programmes, and preparation of strategic policy documentation and reports on a wide variety of Safety Schemes.
Our Director Miriam currently represents the Small Firms Association (SFA) on the Business/ Employers Pillar of the Kildare County Council (KCC) Strategic Policy Committee (SPC) for Transportation, Safety & Emergency Services, where she provides on-going support and advice in the derivation of Strategic Council Policy on a wide variety of Transport related issues including but not limited to the following:

- Regulation of Private Parking Areas
RSM were involved in the production of a draft policy document on Roadside Memorials, which is perhaps one of the most sensitive road safety related issues which requires policy making at strategic corporate level.
RSMs experience in formulating safe and effective Local Area Development Plans, Urban and Village Renewal Plans and Strategic Development zones for numerous clients in Ireland and the UK has given us an insight into highlighting the values and choices which are important elements of strategic plan preparation, encompassing an inherent comparison with best practice principles and strategies which have been successful elsewhere. This expertise can be adapted to ensure the development of National work programmes and the establishment of priorities for particular jurisdictions in terms of objectives, strategies, standards and performance indicators.
RSMs experience enables us to use our combined skills in research, formulating, writing and producing Road Safety Plans and Strategies as well as effective monitoring, review and evaluation of existing strategies and programmes, particularly from a cost benefit and target achievement perspective, with expertise derived from experience in many complementary Road Safety related disciplines, to ensure a multidisciplinary approach and effective consultation with all concerned stakeholders to ensure optimal resource allocation, as well as addressing Value for Money issues and effectiveness, efficiency and performance in all key areas, in the derivation of effective strategic policy in any area of Road Safety.
