Road Safety Impact Assessment
RSM can provide an RSIA service on infrastructure projects in accordance with EU Directive 2008/96/EC and the NRA DMRB HD 18/12. Our experience in the development of strategic planning alternatives, routes, and micro simulation traffic modelling and traffic surveying gives us an appreciation of typical network characteristics, levels of service, capacity, volumes, and O-D characteristics for all road users. This knowledge can be integrated with Road Safety capabilities and knowledge of Average Collision Rates and Severities on all classifications of road to assess the impact of any substantial changes to a road network.
RSM can also incorporate a number of standard cost benefit analysis techniques to evaluate a number of potential alternatives and derive the optimal cost effective solution through the RSIA process.
